Brooklyn Bridge Park Engagement

I knew from the moment Gerard reached out to me to document this incredible proposal that the day was going to be extraordinary. From our very first conversation about planning this Brooklyn Bridge Park engagement session, he was very clear that the day and the moment needed to be all about Jamie.

The day did not disappoint with gorgeous mid-afternoon light pouring over downtown Brooklyn and the lucky find of a vintage cab parked on a side street.

We spent the afternoon strolling through the charming streets and scenes of Brooklyn Heights. Gerard’s cover was simple. He and Jamie both agreed they needed professional photos of themselves to hang around their new place. As a incredibly chic fashionista, Jamie quickly agreed to an afternoon of dressing up for new “apartment photos.”

When it was time for Gerard to pop the question, I could not have predicted a sweeter reaction from Jamie. As the session wrapped up, Jamie and Gerard found themselves at a dead end and he slowly pulled out the red ring box. As a wedding photographer, I always prefer to give couples as much space as possible during these quiet moments. It’s better to shoot with a long lens so I can capture all the heartfelt moments while also giving my couples intimacy.
