Waveny Park Engagement

College sweethearts. Foodies. Deep laughers. These are just a few ways to describe Brenna and Ben and it doesn’t begin to scratch the surface!

I had the honor of walking around Waveny Park in New Canaan, Connecticut for a couple hours with these two for their late Fall engagement session and I’m not sure it could have been more perfect. The warm, autumnal light fell on the field in the most gorgeous way the later it got. Luckily, I helped Brenna and Ben time their engagement session just right to capture this golden light (my absolute favorite!).

When people ask whether I’m more of a natural photographer or if I prefer to pose my couples, the truth is somewhere in between. As a professional, I absolutely love setting my couples up in flattering poses and letting them breathe into them. What does this mean? I want to pose my couples in a way that tells a story, but I don’t want them to be stiff. Once I set my couples up in a pose, I want them to feel free to interact, move, giggle, and snuggle to create real moments of connection. Brenna and Ben took this idea and ran with it. I was so thrilled to work with them throughout the afternoon and watch them let the world fade away as they focused on each other during their session.
