New York Botanical Gardens Wedding

Every wedding is wonderfully unique. The weddings that truly move me are a genuine reflection of the two people committing themselves to each other for a lifetime. I can most definitely say this about Kayla and Charles. Their wedding celebration at the New York Botanical Gardens was a sincere reflection of their wonderful personalities and love.

When I first spoke to Kayla, she was very clear that she never imagined herself saying her vows in front of anyone (or walking down an aisle). This led her and Charles to elope near a remote lake in Colorado with their dog Buckshot. A few short weeks later, their closest family and friends surrounded them for an awesome celebration at the New York Botanical Gardens.

When I first met Kayla, we were both navigating the crazy world of NYC internships. I’m so thrilled life led us back together for this singular experience. I’m even more thrilled that Charles, a sweet and caring man, is now by her side through it all.

I’m not sure I can recall a moment during the day when they weren’t holding hands or caressing each other. It’s this tenderness that always gives me so much joy to document wedding days.

We started the day getting ready at the delightfully charming Stone Mill at the New York Botanical Gardens. I was lucky to spend the afternoon capturing their portraits in the gardens and bearing witness to their kindness to one another.

These two lovely people are now settling into married life in Nashville, TN. I couldn’t be more honored that they chose me to capture their magic.
