Hammonasset Beach Engagement

On a gorgeous Spring day, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Alisha and Jeff while strolling around Hammonasset Beach. Alisha is a ray of sunshine in pint-sized form. Her carefree spirit and infectious laugh match Jeff’s dry sarcasm. It’s easy to see how these two fell hard and fast for each other!

The day started with uncertainty about the weather. It had been drizzling for an hour before their session. Alisha and Jeff knew they wanted the classic romance of a beach engagement session, but feared we would have to reschedule if the skies opened up. Lucky for us, the rain stopped just minutes before we arrived at Hammonasset Beach. Alisha and Jeff were thrilled and, more impressively, completely unfazed by the threat of unpleasant weather.

The sun peeking in and out of the clouds rolling in to Hammonasset was a small part of the magic of this engagement session. The gentle, sweet, and hilarious connection between Alisha and Jeff made the day spectacular. From conversations about which Italian restaurant they’d visit after the session, to debating whether or not Jeff should roll up his pants, to braving the cold ocean and strong winds for the right shots, it’s clear these two amazing people have a lifetime of adventure and fun ahead of them. It was such an honor photographing Alisha and Jeff at this very special time in their lives.

I can’t recommend Hammonasset Beach enough for engagement sessions! Being a wedding photographer in Connecticut brings me to a number of beaches throughout the year. Hammonasset is definitely one of the best. The cozy nooks along the rocky beach offer an incredible selection of backdrops. Check out some of my favorite images from this day to see what I mean.
