Everyone imagines late fall in New England with snow-covered landscapes and bitterly cold temperatures. But every so often, the crisp early fall weather lingers a little longer than expected.
This was definitely the case with Olivia and Will’s engagement session at Edgerton Park in New Haven. Olivia and Will were so happy to stop and capture some moments while we walked through the park and the surrounding area of East Rock. As we strolled, I kept an eye out for the perfect pockets of light. The warmth and love these two have for each other produced the sweetest moments I was honored to capture.
When I heard that Olivia and Will wanted a local engagement session in New Haven, I was thrilled. While Edgerton Park is gorgeous, there’s something incredibly special about wandering through a neighborhood. As a Connecticut wedding photographer, I love when the surrounding environment opens my couples up in unexpected ways. Leaving Edgerton Park and walking through East Rock, Olivia and Will felt at ease about sharing more about who they are as a couple. We spent the afternoon walking the charming sidewalks of East Rock and stopping for photos in quiet corners of the family-friendly neighborhood. As we walked, Olivia and Will expressed their dreams for the future and shared what really meant the most to them for their upcoming wedding.
While I adore photographing couples in gardens, parks, and beaches, I can’t recommend local neighborhoods enough for engagement sessions! If you’re in or around New Haven, Edgerton Park and East Rock are beautiful gems in Connecticut to consider. If you love the idea of a neighborhood engagement session but don’t know where to go, let’s chat! I would love to find a little corner in Connecticut that offers the charm of a historic neighborhood.
I am looking forward to photographing Olivia and Will at their wedding at Eolia Mansion at Harkness State Park in August!
